FAQ
What training methods do you use?
We use positive reinforcement - treats, play, toys - to teach your dog what you want, instead of punishing what you don't. It's fun, kind and gets great results!
How long does each training session last?
Each training session typically lasts 45 minutes to an hour.
Can you help with specific behavioral issues?
Yes, we can assist with behaviors like mild leash reactivity, excessive barking, jumping up, etc. If your dog has severe human or dog aggression we are happy to refer you to a Veterinary Behaviorist.
Will my dog/puppy be fully trained after our program finishes?
While we can’t guarantee that your dog or puppy will be fully trained after our program, we’ll ensure that you have the tools and knowledge to continue making progress. It's important to remember that behavior change is an ongoing process, and results depend on how much effort and consistency you put into training at home. Training is a partnership between you and your dog, and with dedication, you’ll see significant improvements. Our goal is to guide and support you every step of the way.
How should I prepare for our first session?
To be prepared for our first session, please have:
- your dog confined (crate, pen or in another room)
- a training pouch or something in which to put your treats
- soft treats cut up into small pieces
- a 6 ft leash
We'll start by having a brief discussion about your dog, your
training goals and what to work on first. Then we'll
have your dog come out on leash and get to training!
What if I need to cancel?
If you need to cancel, a 24-hour notice is required, or you will be charged the usual fees associated with the session. Unused sessions on pre-purchased packages are not refundable, but may be transferred within the expiration date to another dog/client if requested.
